Since unveiling its newest girl group, Hello Venus, Pledis has shed some more surprising tidbits about Hello Venus’ members.

On April 18, Pledis Entertainment revealed that Hello Venus members Yoo Ara and Yoonjo were originally planned to be admitted into After School.

The agency revealed that the two members were actually members of After School’s Pre-School Girls. The Pre-School Girls are comprised of members in line to join After School’s admittance/graduation system.

Yoo Ara was revealed to have taken first place in Pledis Entertainment’s 2009 auditions to find the ninth member of After School. But with her vocal prowess, youthful image, acting skills and Japanese language fluency, she was made the leader of Hello Venus instead of joining After School.

Yoonjo also isn’t a stranger to Pledis fans as she was featured in After School’s first album track, Dream. From even her early days as a trainee her youthful appearance attracted fans to the point that her name became a heavily searched phrase on portal search engines.

Pledis Entertainment revealed that due to their looks and extraordinary skills, Yoo Ara and Yoonjo were taken out of the Pre-School Girls and placed into the new group, Hello Venus, where it was thought the two would be able to showcase more of their diverse merits.

Hello Venus is comprised of six members and will likely debut in early May.
